A fresh start

Welcome to my new journal and my pristine, fresh website!

As we are quickly heading to a brand-new year, 2024, it’s a perfect time to refresh some things about my knitting. First and foremost, I want to bring back my old habit of writing a blog. What started as an important creative outlet, as a diary for all my knitting and making, and that was something I spent quite a few hours working on each month, slowly faded away as more fast-paced formats like Instagram took over.

But I have missed writing more and a bit longer texts, sharing more photos and all the things that interest me. Hopefully this new platform will revive my love for writing and making! I’m also planning to add a little video section to this new website, something that’s probably mostly for tutorials and little tricks and tips to ease the knitting process for everyone. I know those are always fun to see and learn!

Holiday gift knitting process and plans

You can still see where it all started: my original blog 100% rain. I will keep all the old blog posts there, mainly because it’s fun to take a little walk down the memory line once in a while. All the new entries will happen here on this new journal from now on.  It’s silly that a name so random kept going and grew to be my brand name too, Rain Knitwear Designs. I don’t really even remember how my blog ended up being called 100% rain, I do remember just wanting to start and needing a name. That was the first thing that popped into my mind and just so I never changed it later on.

More holiday knitting plans!

This new chapter (I’m mainly referring to my new website here!) has been a long time in the making. It’s also long overdue. But I have finally reached this point; we have a working website published for all to see and it really makes me happy to keep growing and making new things. What a wonderful start to a new year. This year I’m setting myself a few goals: Journal more, run a bit more and knit happy things! All in all, to me this is a list of good things and joyful moments that hopefully make 2024 a good year for me and for the people around me – including all you who kept reading this far!

Here’s to a wonderful year of making! Let’s make the most out of it!
