Mellow Shawl

Hello December! I’m late to the party - oh boy, I’m so late! I’ve always considered myself as a real holiday person, a true little Christmas elf, but this year I haven’t really felt it. Not that anyone needs to be a complete Christmas maniac every single year, but It has been a truly inspiring time for all the crafts and things for me so often. And this year, I’m just not there.

But there are other things happening for sure: woking on my upcoming book (exciting, right!?!!), making plans for the new year, finishing all the current projects and casting on all the new things. Because who would I be if I didn’t keep on casting on new projects ALL THE TIME… And I have a feeling that the non-Christmas slump will not last forever, and then it would be better to have all the other things ready or almost done before the holiday spirit hits.

To start crossing things off from my to-do list of the year 24, I am today sharing the Mellow Shawl with everyone. If you are looking for a relaxing shawl to knit during all that sometimes stressful holiday prep, this is a good one!

Mellow Shawl features garter stitch, some stripes and a bit of intarsia. But intarsia only if you want to use the technique! There are 3 different ways to knit up this shawl included in the pattern, all three resulting in the same finished object. So there’s a way to enjoy this shawl for everyone (I hope!).

I used Vieno yarn from Aara Yarn and I just adore this base! With 56% Merino and 44% Mohair, the base is a fingering weight yarn with  400 meters / 100 grams. It’s light yet warm, durable and still soft. And I adore the drape so much! I’ve already knitted a lightweight cardigan with it and could knit many more things with it.

Don’t forget that you can get the pattern at a great price right now! To celebrate the release of Mellow Shawl, there’s a little introductory sale: 20% discount until Sunday, December 15th, 2024 (until the end of the day, Helsinki time). Use code MELLOW for the discount.

Let’s enjoy a bit of shawl knitting!
