Polaris Wrap
One of the most exciting projects from last year was my collaboration with Frida Fuchs and Yarnover Berlin!
I haven’t made many advent calendar designs and to me they have always felt quite a challenge. But this previous year I completely embraced that challenge - and I’m so proud of how the collaboration turned out.
We started planning this already in the beginning of the year, thinking about themes and color palettes and all that. Then Steffi worked her magic over the dye pots and came up with fabulous, breathtaking colors for this wrap. I mean the colors were all just amazing. And not only the one palette I had my heart set upon, but all three turned out spectacular.
Writing a pattern that uses 24 mini skeins is not always easy, but this one it worked perfectly. I can’t even tell you how much I enjoyed knitting my own wrap! And seeing Steffi and Marion knitting theirs as test versions (it really worked out perfectly!).
Then when December started I got al little nervous, thinking about who would even like this and all the usual what-if’s. It’s just something that happens I guess, but when a design is a mystery, I tend to feel a bit more nervous than usual. But then December went by and I have seen the wraps grow! That really makes me so happy!
For the time being the pattern is exclusive to the ones who bought the Frida Fuchs mystery box. But I will release Polaris Wrap as a single pattern on December 2024! Ready for all your advent projects of next season!
