Inner Peace

One more new pattern released for the year of 2024! Oh boy, it’s been a year full of work and I’m all excited about that. There will be a big post reflecting back to all the key moments of this year, but for now I want to focus solely on the new pattern release.

The last pattern this year is my Inner Peace Sweater, a lovely little layering piece that will go perfectly for any style, any season and works in so many different yarn bases.

Inner Peace Sweater is a wonderful mid-season sweater, that suddenly seems to work for all seasons and many years to come. The sweater was started as a quick little layering piece for my spring wardrobe, and I ended up loving it more than many of my other sweaters – and wearing it all the time.

The sweater is worked from top down in one piece, starting with the upper back and then the stitches are picked up for each front shoulders. Then you join the shoulder pieces for the front, work lower body in round (and that’s quickly done!). For the sleeves stitches are picked up and then shaped with a few short rows to make them fit super nicely. Last but least you pick up stitches for the collar and all edges are bound off with soothing sewn bind-off (or tubular BO). Lovely and easy and so comfy to wear. The super cropped body is also very easy to make longer if desired (just keep going until you’ve reached the right length for you!).

I knitted my Inner Peace Sweater in gorgeous Säie Merino Aran by Säie Wool, making it a quick knit that looks beautiful year after year. I used my all-time favourite greys in my sample: Fog Mr. Fogg. It’s nice and warm grey with just the right lightness of tone to my liking! You can find this yarn here.

I love the sweater in all its simplicity. It’s mainly Stockinette stitch and I just love to wear simple sweaters like this one. The little things like the construction and the bind-offs and shaping are what make this sweater what it is - and I love it just like that. I hope this is something you’ll love just as much.

I would also very much like to knit another one of these - or three. Or one in every colour imaginable. But even more than making it in all colours, I also am curious about making it in other bases! Maybe with something more rustic or woolen spun?
