Monday Love Dress
Hello March! I can’t quite believe it’s here. The official first spring month. We have had a few sunny days when the sun actually feels warm and there’s a chance that by summer all the snow might have melted. But I’m pretty certain that these first rays (and days) of sunshine are just a hoax, ready to lure us all into this phase of fool’s spring.
In reality it’s still quite cold, and I will keep wearing a sweater (or sweater dress) for a few more months surely, if not through the whole summer too… So in honour of the first Spring month, I’m releasing my favourite new sweater dress:
Monday Love Dress
It’s cozy, it’s lovely and it looks so chic! Especially in this fabulous deep black colour called Sysi. I knitted my dress in Aara Yarn Love (a DK weight Boucle yarn) held together with Aara Yarn Hieno (delicate Silk Mohair). It’s the same yarn combination as in my Sunday Love Sweater, and oh boy that sweater has been in frequent use this winter! That’s why I actually started this dress project over the Christmas Holidays, I needed something similar to my Sunday Love to not be wearing the same sweater each and every day!
I guess we all know that the knits need a few rest days too! They will last longer and in better shape. But that’s not really the case with my Sunday Love. I just love it so much and it’s such a lovely, easy-to-wear sweater that it’s hard not to use it every day!
I’m so in love with this combination of Boucle and Silk Mohair, the feel is just divine. It’s quick to knit, so soft and light yet durable. And I just adore that uneven fabric the yarns create. Sometimes the Boucle alone feels a bit too airy to me, but with added strand of Silk Mohair it feels full and fluffy. It might be just a phase, but I’m going all in with the Boucle trend!
Monday Love is such a fun and fast knit that I encourage you to start right away! It’ll be done in no time, thanks to the lofty gauge and big needles. Also the dress is knitted on the inside (WS), so there minimal purling needed! You just turn the dress to the reverse Stockinette stitch side after finishing! Only the long folded turtle neck gave me a bit of headache, as it was nearly impossible to distinguish the purl and knit stitches in the darkness of the winter from black Boucle-Silk-Mohair-combo.
But it was so worth it! Every single stitch! This dress is just a dream to wear!
