Cherry Good Socks
Simple socks are often the best socks! I love when I can find a good sock template, with a few well thought through details that I can follow pair after pair - and this, my newest pattern release, is exactly what I love. After designing many socks with colorwork in mind: either stranded colorwork like my Popsicle Socks or intarsia like in my Pino Socks, this is something different. But still equally fun!
Cherry Good Socks are all about easy ribbing with minimal details. Simple one-by-one ribbing gives these socks a great fit and the pattern is perfect even for all the first time sock knitters. These socks are worked from the cuff down - again, my favourite way of knitting socks. Also I’ve never been that good in handling two socks at a time, so I’m pretty happy to knit all my socks one by one. No matter if the second sock syndrome is lurking just around the corner… All in all this pattern has the makings of a good, workhorse of a pattern!
Then the choice of yarn! This is a pattern that gives the stage to the yarn and colour. Truly! You can go for a more variegated, to speckled, maybe choose something more solid; this pattern will look just as good in so many different options! No wonder this has become my favourite easy sock pattern. letting all the pretty yarns shine.
All of the ramblings above just to say the main point: Cherry Good Socks is my new go-to basic sock pattern. The fit is lovely and snug, making this a perfect pattern for feet in many shapes and sizes. Can’t wait to make another pair!
With so many new sock patterns released, I’m thinking that a sock knit along is in order! I still have 2 more new sock patterns to be released, but stay tuned - there will be a sock KAL happening in the near future, and by that I mean this Spring!
