A diary for all my knitting and making
Alma Skirt
This year I have so many fabulous projects lined up, that it would be hard to convince me to take a weeks long pause anyway! More details on those later, but today I wanted to share my Alma Skirt with you. Alma Skirt was another collaboration with Ilo Yarn for Jyväskylä Knit Fest 2024.
Summer Sale
I’m trying to minimise computer work, but I’m knitting outside as much as possible - so some work gets done after all!
So I had the idea of a Summer Sale! And it has started already! Use code SUMMER to get a 20% discount on all the patterns in my shop! The sale continues until the end of the day Friday, June 28th, 2024!
Aalto Vest
Aalto Vest is originally designed for amirisu magazine, their spring/summer issue of 2023, issue 26. It is a spectacular issue focusing on Finland and northern landscapes with Finnish designers included and with a feature of Helsinki as a craft city guide.
Serendipity in the Making
I thought today would be a lovely day to look closer at the design process during the making of Serendipity Sweater, this lovely cabled raglan sweater. You might have followed the journey of this design on my Instagram earlier this year: I shared quite a bit process and progress pictures and videos of this one.
Serendipity Sweater
For a very long time I’ve been loving double seed stitch, or moss stitch, with cables, but now the seed stitch feel so very fresh for some reason. Maybe it’s the need for a little change, maybe I’ve seen more seed stitch around, who knows? But seed stitch is the true champion of this project and the cables are mainly just framing it and letting it shine!
Double Bubble
This is one of those highly relaxing knitting project in my opinion. You can enjoy long strtches of simple Stockinette stitch with only a little shaping. Double Bubble Sweater is knitted from the top down in one piece, starting with the back and then picking up stitches for each shoulder. What I love maybe the most is the lovely trapezoid look created with easy decreases along the lower body and the sleeves.
Socks for Spring
It’s end of April and I think Spring is here to stay this time. The sun is shining and the air feels fresh and surprisingly warm. I’m ready for all the flowers and green grass. To celebrate I have just released two new sick designs: Mauve Socks and Lemonade Socks!
Spring Sweaters
For month or so ago I was all about Spring things: tops and t-shirts and shorts and what not. But now, I do feel like long sleeved thick sweaters are all we are going to need. So I have started and almost finished two new sweater projects while waiting for Spring. And these are the loveliest, simple sweaters this time.
Neon Bliss Sweater
A new design on April Fools’ Day is no joke! But it sure must be super fun and joyful. And there absolutely nothing more cheerful than the Fluoro Morganite color by La Bien Aimée! So here comes Neon Bliss Sweater!
Spring Sale
I don’t do sales very often, but since I’m in the middle of getting so many old (and new) patterns written up and things seem a bit quiet and most things happen behind the scenes, I thought this is the perfect time for an impromptu spring sale!
